Private RV sites: US-31 Corridor

Corn-and-soybean farm country along the US-31 expressway — Kokomo, Peru, Rochester, Plymouth, and the run up to South Bend. Hosts are mostly working farms a few minutes off the highway: a pad by the barn, a lane along the field edge, and an easy onward drive in the morning.

$30–50 / night · typical host rates Electric + water typical Fits rigs up to 40 ft

Typical hookups

Expect 30-amp electric and water at most farmsteads; some hosts around Rochester and Plymouth have 50-amp for bigger rigs. Sewer is uncommon — ask the host for the nearest town dump station.

Rig size notes

Easy country for longer rigs: straight county roads and roomy farm lanes take 40-foot setups comfortably. During harvest, wide equipment owns the roads — give it room.

Good to know

The highway is the trade-off: a pad within earshot of US-31 hears it all night, so ask how far back the site sits. Near the South Bend end, Notre Dame home-game weekends fill everything for miles.
